WALK, ROLL OR STROLL WITH MY POSSIBILITIES
Plano-based nonprofit hosts inaugural relay event
Oct. 23, 2018 – PLANO, TX – My Possibilities (MP) invites you to the inaugural HIPster Relay, Saturday, Nov. 3, presented by Berry Family Services. HIPster Relay is an inclusive, walk-a-thon style awareness event at the My Possibilities Campus for Higher Learning.
My Possibilities is retiring the long-standing Santa Run Texas 5K to further spread awareness about our Hugely Important People (HIPsters) and bring the community to MP’s backyard. HIPster Relay is a free, community event. However, participants are encouraged to ask their coworkers, family and friends to sponsor their participation. HIPster Relay focuses on participation and inclusion, it is not timed, nor will pledges/donations be made on a per lap basis.
Participants are encouraged to create a team of up to 10 individuals. Teams who raise $500 receive free HIPster Relay t-shirts. The event consists of activities for all ages and abilities, themed relay rounds, food trucks and vendors.
Participants and attendees will enjoy a HIPster-led warm-up, HIPster dance performance and Dallas Fort Worth team mascot dance-off. MP is excited to announce, The K&C Masterpiece, Cory Mageors and Kevin Hageland, of 105.3 The Fan will emcee the event.
“Berry Family Services and My Possibilities have a long-standing relationship,” says Katie Beth Massengill, community services manager at Berry Family Services. “We’re excited to sponsor this new event and continue supporting HIPsters and the community. We can’t wait to see HIPster Relay grow.”
Many sponsors have signed on to support the inaugural HIPster Relay. A special thank you to, 105.3 The Fan, ACrew Events, Atmos Energy, Cutting Edge Pediatric & Adult Therapy, Dillas Primo Quesadillas, Mass Mutual Dallas-Fort Worth, T-Mobile and Weeks Law Firm.
“We had a great eight-year run with Santa Run Texas, we’re thankful for the support the community has shown us over the years,” says Michael Thomas, executive director of My Possibilities. “We are very excited to host our first-ever HIPster Relay on our campus and really show DFW what we’re all about, inclusion and having a good time.”
“HIPster Relay is a great opportunity for individuals to get to know MP a little better, check out our space and engage with our HIPsters,” says Thomas. “We hope to see you there.”
