MY POSSIBILITIES PARTNERS WITH CAPITAL ONE TO CREATE ONLINE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING
My Possibilities to expand online education across Texas
PLANO, TX – Jan. 14, 2021 – My Possibilities is partnering with Capital One to create an online educational platform. This platform, MPYouniversity, will provide programming to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the state of Texas.

My Possibilities (MP) provides continuing education, vocational training and job placement for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) in North Texas. MP refers to clients as HIPsters, Hugely Important People.
In March of 2020, MP temporarily shut down due to COVID-19. During this time, the organization launched MP Online, providing live and pre-recorded educational content for HIPsters at home. Throughout the three-month closure, MP’s online program reached enrolled HIPsters in the safety of their home, prospective HIPsters and those who previously attended and moved away.
To date, a virtual solution offering educational content for individuals with disabilities does not exist. With Capital One’s grant, MP will transform MP Online to MPYouniversity, creating accessible educational programming for individuals with IDD across the state of Texas. Content will consist of both live and pre-recorded material, spanning topics of employment, social skills and community engagement, healthy living choices, personal fitness, creative arts and special interests. The combination of live and pre-recorded material will give participants the opportunity to customize a subscription to the program that works with their lifestyle. This platform is another first for MP in developing innovative educational opportunities for individuals with IDD.

“We saw a great response from our HIPsters with MP Online,” said Michael Thomas, executive director for My Possibilities. “MPYouniversity allows us to expand our programs to individuals with disabilities all over the state of Texas, whether or not they are enrolled on our campus. Resources are limited for so many and MP is proud to offer continuing education across the state.”
