MURAL INSTALLATION AT MY POSSIBILITIES CAMPUS FOR HIGHER LEARNING

BCA’s Leadership Arts Institute designs and installs mural for Plano-based nonprofit

PLANO, TX – May 25, 2018 – On Friday, June 8 at 10:30 a.m., My Possibilities kicks off its tenth birthday week by unveiling a mural installation, crafted by the efforts of the Leadership Arts Institute (LAI), a program of Business Council for the Arts.  LAI class members and My Possibilities staff will enjoy a cider toast at the unveiling. My Possibilities staff will provide guided tours throughout the campus following the toast.

Each year, participants in Leadership Arts Institute (LAI) select a legacy project that enriches the North Texas community through the arts. The  LAI Class of 2018 in Collin and Denton Counties chose My Possibilities as the recipient of their project. This class raised funds for the collaborative mural co-created by My Possibilities’ HIPsters (Hugely Important People) and local artist, Nida Bangash. Bangash lead the design and worked closely with the LAI class and HIPsters to complete this stunning work of art.

This creative opportunity provides HIPsters an exciting addition to their portfolios as well as meaningful job coaching and training experience. The LAI class goal was to enrich the new space, symbolize the mission of the organization, and provide HIPsters with a notable addition to their portfolios.  The mural serves as a legacy reminder of HIPster talent and the power of the arts to create community.

My Possibilities recently moved to its new address, 3601 Mapleshade Lane and opened the doors to the Fischer Family School of Life Skills, the first of seven buildings to open on the campus grounds. This one of a kind facility offers nine classrooms, a therapy wing, a gym, the MP SUPPLY CO. and much more.
