WALK, ROLL OR STROLL AT THE ANNUAL HIPSTER RELAY
Join My Possibilities for 2nd annual walk-a-thon event
Oct. 18, 2019 – Plano, TX – My Possibilities (MP) invites you to the 2nd annual HIPster Relay, Saturday, Nov. 2, presented by Berry Family Services. HIPster Relay is an inclusive awareness walk-a-thon at the My Possibilities Campus for Higher Learning.
HIPster Relay focuses on participation and inclusion, it is not timed, nor will pledges/donations be made on a per lap basis. The event consists of activities for all ages and abilities, themed laps, food trucks and vendors.
To participate, individuals are encouraged to register online and pay a $15 registration fee. Then, create a fundraising page at 2019hipsterrelay.funraise.org. Once the individual page is created, participants can fundraise as individuals or create a team fundraising page. A team is an excellent way to involve friends and family members. Teams can consist of up to 10 individuals.
Participants and attendees will enjoy a HIPster-led warm-up, HIPster dance performance and Dallas Fort Worth team mascot dance-off. MP is excited to announce, The K&C Masterpiece, Cory Mageors and Kevin Hageland, of 105.3 The Fan will emcee the event for the second year in a row.
“Berry Family Services and My Possibilities have a long-standing relationship,” says Katie Beth Massengill, community services manager at Berry Family Services. “We’re excited to sponsor this event for the second year in a row and continue supporting HIPsters and the IDD community at large.”
Alongside HIPster Relay, MP will host the first annual CarPro Car Show, presented by the Car Pro, Jerry Reynolds and fearuring Hawk’s Ride; a 1937 Ford Custom hotrod built by West Coast Customs. Classic car lovers
are encouraged to participate, for more information on the car show or to register, contact carshow@mptx.org.
“This fundraising event is an opportunity for the community to come together as HIPster Heroes,” says Jeanine Alpert, director of community engagement for My Possibilities. “Relay is a walk-a-thon for inclusion at its core.”
