Due to COVID-19 and the safety of our HIPsters and everyone else, My Possibilities has chosen to re-imagine Community Ball. We will merge exciting elements of Community Ball with A Special Evening, our annual entertainment event; creating A Very Special Evening! On Thursday, Dec. 3, we will have a magical evening full of entertainment with Wayne Brady, music, dancing and food, along with our popular raffle, silent auction and wine pull at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas. A VERY SPECIAL EVENING FAQ
WHEN IS THIS NEW EVENT: A VERY SPECIAL EVENING (AVSE)?
Thursday, Dec. 3
5:15 – 6:45 p.m. AT&T VIP reception, silent auction, (online prior to event), raffle and wine pull
7 p.m. HIPster Grand Entrance
7:15 – 8 p.m. Program
8 – 9:15 p.m. Wayne Brady
9:30 – 10:30 p.m. Berry Family Services HIPster Celebration Dance Party
WHERE IS THE EVENT?
Music Hall at Fair Park, 909 1st Ave., Dallas
HOW MUCH IS PARKING?
Parking is free. There is ample parking adjacent and across from the venue.
IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO THE MUSIC HALL AT FAIR PARK?
- Transportation from MP is being explored, watch for more information
- Families/caregivers are responsible for pick up from the event
- Families/caregivers may transport to and from the event
- DART is available for those HIPsters and caregivers that live in the DART service areas. Pick-up and drop-off from HIPsters’ homes only.
- Toyota will provide a shuttle from the DART light rail to the front door of the Music Hall at Fair Park
CAN I JUST GO TO THE DANCE PARTY?
Yes, we can’t wait to dance the night away with you! HIPster Celebration Dance Party only tickets are $50. We will communicate once those ticket are available for purchase. If only attending the dance part, please arrive at 9:15 p.m. for registration.
CAN I WEAR MY COMMUNITY BALL DRESS/TUXEDO TO THE NEW EVENT?
Attire is business to evening dress. If a HIPster picked up a dress from Prom Closet, that still works! No need to find something new.
WILL MEN’S WEARHOUSE STILL OFFER A DISCOUNT?
Yes, discounts at Men’s Wearhouse are still available. More information to follow.
WILL I NEED TO EAT BEFOREHAND? WHAT FOOD OPTIONS ARE OFFERED?
The reception will have buffet-style food (not a sit-down meal). More information to follow.
WHO IS ATTENDING THE EVENT?
The event is open to anyone who purchases a ticket.
WHAT IF I ALREADY PURCHASED TICKETS TO ASE, BUT WANT TO ADD ON OR CHANGE MY PURCHASE?

WHAT DO HIPSTERS WHO ATTEND AVSE RECEIVE?
All HIPsters receive a free ticket to see Wayne Brady perform. This free ticket does not include the VIP reception or the dance party. Wayne Brady seat requests must be made by Nov. 1.
WHAT ABOUT HIPSTER FAMILIES WHO ATTEND AVSE?
HIPster families may purchase tickets as explained above. If a HIPster family would like to purchase tickets to the Wayne Brady performance, please contact Marta Lilly at mlilly@mptx.org to purchase a ticket for the concert and sit with your favorite HIPster.
If you would like to attend the Wayne Brady performance without your HIPster, you can purchase tickets for the performance only (no VIP reception or dance party) here. Tickets range from $25 – $150.
IS COMMUNITY BALL STILL HAPPENING?
We will not have a Community Ball in 2020.
WHY WAS THE COMMUNITY BALL CANCELED?
Due to COVID-19 and the health and safety of our HIPsters and staff, we decided to re-imagine Community Ball for 2020. Elements of this event are now incorporated into A Very Special Evening.
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE NEXT COMMUNITY BALL?
The next Community Ball is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. A block of rooms are available at a discounted rate for those that would like to spend the night.
